Sneak Peek: Whitney and Matt's Wedding

Remember Whitney and Matt from these photos?

Well, I'm happy to be able to say that I got to be a part of their wedding day, too, which was such a fun and fantastic day! They were married at the Church at Horseshoe Bay, followed by their AMAZING reception at Spicewood Vineyard. My fantastic second shooter, Jessica, and I took a TON of photos, so I'm still going through all of them, but here's a sneak peak in the meantime.

Lupe and Brian at Memory Lane

I don't even know where to start with Lupe and Brian... from the moment we met, I felt like we had known each other for years. They're so comfortable to be around, and so happy together that it's impossible not to be happy around them. They're also one of the strongest couples I've ever had the pleasure of meeting; Brian's story is an inspiring one, and he and Lupe are an amazing reminder that you can never give up. (You can see more about Brian and his cancer battle on his website.)

Their wedding at Memory Lane Event Center in Dripping Springs was a gorgeous celebration of love, family and friendship, and I was so lucky to be there to witness it.

Lupe and Brian, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day... I am so happy for you both!

The Davidson (extended!) Family Sneak Peek

This past weekend, I had the good fortune to meet up with a fantastic family. Joyce, who is the mother and grandmother of this beautiful family, contacted me a few weeks ago; though she and her husband Rex live in New Mexico, they were going to be in Austin visiting their children and grandchildren and wanted to have some photos taken.

Well, as you'll see, I couldn't STOP taking photos. How fun is this lovely family?!

Life in iPhone photos

Like half the world, I'm a little obsessed with Instagram. In January I did the Photo a Day Challenge, but for some reason I felt like it was getting to be too much of a chore towards the end of that month, so I haven't done it for February or March. These are the shots that I get of our everyday life, since I don't carry the big camera around for errands or just hanging out in the yard (though I'm trying to get better about that!) The phone's biggest YES factor is simply convenience, and whenever I look back at these photos, they make me smile.

It's obviously been about 4 months since my last blog post, and while I didn't make a New Year's resolution to post more, I really should have. Fortunately, I've had lots of photo fun happening lately, and I'm excited to share it!

One of my recent favorites is Whitney and Matt's engagement shoot. The funny backstory here is that Casey and Whitney work together, and he's the one who gave her my contact info for photos, but once she and I talked, we figured out that we actually knew each other from college! Small world. :)

After a couple of failed attempts (it actually rained in Austin!) we met up late one Sunday to get some shots.
